The Enneagram of Self-Awareness

Self-awareness is the ability to observe our thoughts, feelings, behaviors and patterns through introspection and reflection.

The Enneagram is made up of nine distinct, yet interconnected ways of being, doing, feeling, thinking and seeing the world.

Through exploring the nine types and 27 subtypes, this group will focus on learning ancient Enneagram wisdom combined with modern modes of understanding ourselves. As we learn the depth of each Enneagram type we will be able to increase our own self-awareness of the unconscious ways we move through the world.

Making the unconscious conscious gives us freedom to offer self-compassion to ourselves and choose which patterns we are ready to let go. This is a highly developed course that has been a great companion for those who already know and love The Enneagram but who want to take their understanding to the next level, while also a great starter for those new to The Enneagram and new to inner work.

Participants can expect to:

-Be more self-aware

-Be able to cultivate an "inner witness" that allows you to be more mindful and present

-Understand the Enneagram types at a deep and nuanced level

-Be more kind and compassionate

-Have more curiosity and less judgement towards self and others
-Learn to use the Enneagram as a tool for self-development and transformation

-Have direction on which parts of the personality are affecting your quality of life and learn the steps to work on them

-Learn while having fun and building a community

-Experience the benefits of group work (condensing time frames, profound leaps in self-development through learning with and from others)

Some topics we may explore:
  • What is The Enneagram?

    • Basics, history, how we can use it for transformation

  • How to cultivate self-awareness through non-judgmental self observation

  • In depth understanding of the 9 Enneagram numbers and the nuance of the 27 Enneagram Subtypes

  • The 3 Centers of Intelligence: Gut, Heart and Head

    • Determine which center we lean on most, which center we are underusing and learn how to become better balanced

  • Feelings are for feeling: Mad, sad, glad and scared and why our Enneagram type  makes it challenging to experience one or more of them

  • Enneagram Passions: How we habitually suffer in our types

  • Enneagram Fixations: The mental habits of each type

  • Defense Mechanisms: What keeps the personality stuck in place

  • Number specific motivations: The Enneagram is determined by motivation and not behavior. Learn the motivations for each number, how to spot them and how to replace those we have outgrown.

  • Enneagram in Context

    • We will use book excerpts, video clips, poems, etc. to understand the nuanced ways we each see the world

*Although my intention is to cover certain topics, I will adjust the course to the individual group depending on Enneagram knowledge and experience and collective interest.

"This course has given me words to articulate what I already knew about myself and helped me to see patterns in my thought processes that I hadn't realized were patterns. When I've put what I've learned into practice, it's also helped me have more constructive interactions with other people in my life."
